I have a 22hp briggs ohv twin model G5, Looked at many ways to set the valves still having problems,. I have a 22hp briggs ohv twin model G5, Looked at many ways to set the valves still having problems, here is what i have; All the videos I check show to set the valve of the opposing vale that is fully depressed opened not like old school top dead center compression so I did that to no avail the valves don't seem right. Remove Advertisements. They will normally but the rockers will be moving in the opposite direction of each other. This because one is cylinder is going throught exhaust and intake cycles while the other is going through its compression and power cycles. This should be the same for the other cylinder as you turn the engine through two complete turns of the flywheel.

how do you add radicals
The starter won't turn the engine unless I cover the carb. Nothing seems to help. First off, the numbers you posted are not the engine model numbers. Second, IF you adjusted the valves as you said, you MAY not have done it properly but I don't know that without the engine model number. As Walt said, he has detailed instructions. It also includes things NOT to do! Just email him and he'll send them to you.
