Diners, Drive-ins and Dives Featured... - Cafe Genevieve
Great waterfront location with a shaded tiki bar area and some tables out in the sun. Food was out of bounds! I had the shrimp burger made with gulf shrimp. The only breading is in the bun! Fries are home made and seasoned to perfection. Truly addicting!

This is a great little bbq joint. The help is a little sassy but fun. I thought the bbq ribs I got were great. While I did not personally like the regular bbq sauce, I liked the Sweet Heat and bought a bottle to take home. We waited in line for 20 minutes, and thoroughly enjoyed the photos along the way depicting some famous visitors, including President Obama. The atmosphere is laid back and homestyle, some of the employees are engaging and enjoyable, others not so much. Most important for any barbecue fan is the food, of course.
Rodizio service is the type of service we offer at Carnaval. Afterwards you turn a token on your table to show the green side, which signals our Gaucho Chefs that you are ready for meat service! Keep doing that until you've tried every skewer! Reservations are often recommended. When the online reservation form doesn't allow a reservation, we probably still have availability. Just give us a call please.
My wife and I visited the restaurant because we saw it featured on TV on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, one of our favorite programs. Our visit was on the occasion of our 40th wedding anniversary. The place is simply outstanding. The menu is broad and eclectic. We ordered a starter of fried Brussels sprouts, which came with Red Eye aioli and lemon. It was fantastic, and large enough to make a meal had we not stopped eating before we were full. For the entrees, I chose a Pork Neck Ragout, which was served over noodles.
