You might have noticed I write mostly about North Goa on my blog. That is because I live in North Goa. Maybe once a year, we go down there. Many people email about coming to Goa for one week or two and want to know if they should stay in the North or bounce down to the South. If I had to list the top 10 restaurants in Goa, they would all be in the North.
My partner and I head to Delhi on the first of October and from there we were going to fly to Mumbai but have been told its not the best and we should try Goad instead. So we are wondering what is the best area to stay at in Goa? We would like a area that is very accessible to a nice beach if not somewhere on the beach, would like there to be things to do. First Week of October is when the official season starts in Goa. Prices of hotels and food go up and there is a sudden influx of tourists.

There is something for everyone in Goa: hippy enclaves, family vacation homes, backpacker hang-outs, and yoga galore. Some of these areas have become over-developed by ex-pats, tourists, and locals alike, but there are still some laid-back gems and stunning, empty beaches. Goa has plenty of options, but this also means it can be overwhelming deciding where to stay in Goa. Moreover, getting around Goa can be difficult since many of the towns are considerably spread out. Below we will cover the best places to stay in Goa within its two districts — north and south.
No doubt, Goa is one of the most beautiful and attractive places for the couples. It offers many attractive and romantic places for the couples where they can enjoy the best of their time and can create lots of memories. But does that mean that Goa lacks places to stay when visiting with your family? Well, No! Goa also offers some ultimate places where you can stay with your family as well.
We are a couple in our 40's but like to think we are much younger. Basically looking for somewhere that has bars that open late if we want it, but also somewhere to chill out at night if necessary with a glass of wine. All three places have plenty of hotels to choose from and all three have many bars and restaurants with live music in some. I know that Baga is not far, but is it a bit more laid back if you want it? Seen Le Seasons on the internet which looks nice, but no reviews on Tripadvisor yet.

And, what could be better than going to Goa in an off-season which classifies as the perfect time to hit the beach. Goa stands out in India for its Portuguese colonial architecture and heritage. The Portuguese arrived in Goa in , lured by the exotic East and the promise of lucrative spice routes. Though it has changed hugely over the last couple of decades, Goa still has much to offer, especially for those in need of a blast of sunshine at this time of year. There are many resorts in Goa which are counted among the finest chic resorts. So we are wondering what is the best area to stay at in Goa? I know Calangute and Baga will be the busiest areas with mainly domestic tourists.
